A welder, by the name of Malle Babangida, was sentenced by a Magistrate Court for energy theft. The court sitting which happened in Keffi sentenced the convict to two years in prison.
Mr. Malle was caught illegally using power from a facility belonging to the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC). He was apprehended and taken to Keffi division police station.
The police charged him to court, where he pleaded guilty. His sentence has the over of ₦20,000 in fine, and ₦30,000 for the energy illegally consumed.
