Westa.Solar is a recently initiated joint venture between SHS services provider Oolu Solar and renewable energy investment company RP Global. Westa.Solar offers Commercial & Industrial solar services that range from 50kW to 5MW and has commenced operations in Nigeria. The company recently completed its first installation, a 500kWp solar plant for Petrichor at its Kano facility. The company currently says that it is in discussions with at least 30 companies as it expects to announce more partnerships over the next couple of months.
While Westa.Solar is currently focused on penetrating the Nigerian market; it is already setting its sights on developing and implementing a large pipeline of C&I solar projects across West Africa. “Nigeria has a huge unmet need, so we are focusing on conquering the market. Then in the next year or two, we start our expansion plans across West Africa,” says Westa.Solar’s Country Manager Kolawole Akinboye.
