The contract involves developing a 15MW ground-mounted solar power plant near <a href=\"https:\/\/solarquarter.com\/2024\/05\/28\/totalenergies-uganda-seeks-epc-contractors-for-15mw-solar-plant-near-lake-albert\/\">Lake Albert<\/a>. This project will support the Tilenga oil production project, which involves six oil fields in western Uganda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The solar power plant will be a turnkey installation to boost the <a href=\"https:\/\/theelectricityhub.com\/?s=energy+supply\">energy supply<\/a> for oil activities. Interested contractors must submit prequalification requests via email by June 7, 2024. The tender document details specific requirements applicants must meet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By the end of 2023, Uganda had installed 95 MW of <a href=\"https:\/\/theelectricityhub.com\/?s=solar+power\">solar power<\/a>, according to the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA). TotalEnergies&#8217; project aims to integrate more renewable energy into Uganda\u2019s energy mix.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier this year, Uganda\u2019s Ministry of Water and Environment launched a tender for the Expanding Electricity Access Project. This five-year initiative aims to build 40 <a href=\"https:\/\/theelectricityhub.com\/?s=solar+energy+systems\">solar energy systems<\/a> nationwide.
