The ZPC in its Quarter 1 report stated that the projects will help resolve the perennial water issues faced at the Hwange power station. The Hwange station is also currently undergoing an expansion to add 600MW capacity to the national grid. ”The deal will solve the perennial water supply problem at Hwange Power Station, the country’s largest coal-fired power plant, which currently requires about 3 500m³ of raw water per hour for power generation”, the report stated.
