ZIMBABWE: ICT Minister Laments Incessant Power Cuts

  • ICT Minister laments incessant power outages
  • Accuses unnamed government agencies of sabotaging the efforts of Mnangagwa’s administration

Zimbabwe’s Deputy Minister of Information Communication Technology (ICT), Dingumuzi Phuti, has lamented incessant power cuts by the Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority (ZESA) in Bulilima, Matabeleland South. Speaking at the commissioning of a 4G base station, Phuti lamented the impact of frequent power cuts by the state-owned utility.

“I do not know what the Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority (ZESA) is thinking should be done about the computers put to schools where there is no electricity for two months. Surely that does not deserve any condonation, but it is a perfunctory approach to responsibilities,” Phuti said.

Phuti accused unnamed government agencies of sabotaging the efforts of President Emmerson Mnangagwa in improving the electricity supply in Zimbabwe.
