Total will return to the site if peace continues

The operator of the Afungi project, Total, has said it will return to the construction site if, peace and tranquillity continues. This comes after the project was suspended, and contractors were alleged to remove materials from the construction site.
The President of Total, Patrick Pouyanee said, “As soon as Cabo Delgado has peace again, Total will return”. Confirming this, Zimbabwean President Filipe Nyusi who met with President Emmanuel Macron in Paris said, “we discussed in detail the situation of terrorism. The matter is unavoidable. France has shown a great willingness, but it has left sovereignty in the hands of Mozambicans”.“Total may demand that there is tranquillity and peace to develop its economic projects” President Nyusi added.
