- ZESA warns of power cuts
- Hwange Power station develops technical fault
- 368MW generation capacity lost
The Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority (ZESA) has stated the impending power cuts nationwide. In the statement, ZESA stated that the Hwange Power station had developed a technical fault, resulting in the loss of at least 368MW of generation capacity cropping electricity supply.
ZESA urged consumers to conserve electricity by implementing efficient consumption in light of the reduction in generation capacity. “Zesa Holdings would like to advise its valued customers countrywide that there is limited power supply on the national grid due to a technical fault at Hwange Power Station,” the statement read.
“The technical fault will result in load curtailment of about 368MW today, and customers will be updated as the situation improves.”
ZESA also stated that the restoration of regular services is underway.
