India Seeks Clean Energy Investment in UAE

  • India used the Abu Dhabi visit to strengthen clean energy partnerships and attract global investment into its renewable sector.
  • The minister reaffirmed India’s commitment to an inclusive energy transition and positioned the country as a prime destination for long-term clean energy investment.

India’s New and Renewable Energy Minister Pralhad Joshi has concluded his visit to Abu Dhabi. He focused on attracting investment and strengthening cooperation in clean energy between India and the UAE.

During the trip, Joshi attended the 16th Assembly of the International Renewable Energy Agency. He also held a series of high-level meetings with energy companies, financial institutions and government representatives.

A Renewable Energy Investment Roundtable served as a key event of the visit. Joshi chaired the session and invited UAE-based and international investors, banks and developers to participate. The discussions covered distributed solar, energy storage, renewable manufacturing, green hydrogen, waste-to-energy and sustainable finance.

Joshi highlighted India’s rapid renewable energy growth. He said India offers major opportunities in project development, financing and domestic manufacturing under the Make in India initiative. He described India as a stable and attractive market for long-term clean energy investment.

The Minister also took part in Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week. He met global stakeholders from the clean energy ecosystem and reaffirmed India’s commitment to a just and inclusive energy transition.

Joshi met members of the Indian diaspora in the UAE, including the Kannada community. He thanked them for promoting Indian culture and language abroad. He also visited the BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi and religious sites in Dubai.

Earlier, Joshi addressed the IRENA Assembly’s plenary session. He said India’s energy transition follows the principle of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam- One Earth, One Family, One Future. He said India will cooperate with international partners to accelerate the global energy transition.
