Bboxx and Geocoton Advens Group have agreed to partner to facilitate clean energy access in Burkina Faso and other countries in West Africa. Both companies believe that this partnership would help provide clean energy access to about two million people in Burkina Faso. The partnership will also lead to the creation of about 500 local jobs increasing economic opportunities and development.
The Geocoton Advens Group, which has operated in West and Central Africa for the past 70 years, enables cotton cultivation by smallholder farmers. The Group has a network of over 350,000 cotton producers who have substantial energy needs. Bboxx and Geocoton plan to provide energy to its established cotton farming community, the wider value chain and other r consumers in Burkina Faso.
Bboxx will deploy its Bboxx Pulse solution, a comprehensive management platform to scale up energy access to remote areas previously considered hard to reach. In addition to deploying Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) Solar Home Systems (SHS), Bboxx will in future deploy PAYG LPG clean cooking services and solar-powered water pumps for farmers.
