Nordex Secures Order for 11 Turbines at Wind Farm in Serbia

  • The Nordex Group has secured an order to supply and install 11 wind turbines for the Jasikovo wind farm in Serbia.
  • The project will deliver over 270 GWh annually and includes a long-term service agreement to ensure reliability.

The Nordex Group has secured a new order to supply and install 11 wind turbines for the Jasikovo wind farm in eastern Serbia. The project will strengthen renewable energy capacity in the region.

Each turbine will use the N175/6.X model. In addition, the units will operate at a capacity of up to 7 megawatts.

Meanwhile, the company will install the turbines on 119-metre tubular steel towers. This design supports efficient energy generation under varying wind conditions.

The contract also includes a 30-year Premium Service agreement. Furthermore, it provides an option to extend the service period by an additional five years.

All turbines will feature the Nordex Anti-Icing System. As a result, the system will ensure reliable performance in cold and challenging weather conditions. The Jasikovo wind farm is located in the Serbian Carpathian Mountains. It lies about 175 kilometres east-southeast of Belgrade.

The project site sits roughly six kilometres southwest of Jasikovo village. Notably, the area offers strong wind conditions, with average speeds of about 8 metres per second at hub height. Installation of the first turbine will begin in April 2027. Shortly after, the project will start generating electricity in July 2027.

Once completed, the wind farm will produce more than 270 gigawatt-hours of electricity annually. This output will contribute significantly to Serbia’s clean energy supply.

Paris Lappas, Director Sales Mediterranean East at Nordex Group, said the project highlights the company’s competitive technology.

He said, “This project once again underlines the strong competitiveness of our N175/6.X turbine and the growing demand for high-performance solutions in South-Eastern Europe. Jasikovo marks the first time that Nordex turbines in Serbia are outfitted with our Anti-Icing System.

“We are very pleased to continue our success story in Serbia and to contribute significantly to the country’s renewable energy expansion.”

With the Jasikovo project, Nordex has increased its total installed and contracted capacity in Serbia. The company has now reached 425 megawatts of wind projects in the country. The deal strengthens Nordex’s position in the Serbian renewable energy market.
