Ronald Adams, Chairman of All On, a Shell-funded impact investment company, has urged bold investments in Nigeria’s energy sector to bridge the country’s power deficit.
Adams delivered the call during the 2025 Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) International Business Conference & Expo in Lagos. Themed “Invest Nigeria”, the event gathered global business leaders, diplomats, and policymakers to explore opportunities across Nigeria’s diverse sectors.
As Managing Director of Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company, Adams delivered a keynote address titled “Investment Opportunities in Nigeria: A Renewable Energy Perspective.” He underscored the central role of renewable energy in Nigeria’s development and its vast potential for private sector investment.
“The opportunity in Nigeria is real. The needs are urgent. And the ecosystem is vibrant. Now is the time to invest, not just in businesses, but in Nigeria’s future, a future that is inclusive, sustainable, and resilient,” Adams said.
In addition, he outlined All On’s impact since its launch in 2016, citing over 50 direct investments, more than $40 million committed, and clean energy access delivered to over 1.2 million Nigerians in 190 underserved communities. He also spotlighted initiatives such as the Demand Aggregation for Renewable Technology, which continue to reshape Nigeria’s energy landscape.
Meanwhile, the two-day conference featured country-to-country business sessions, regulatory panels, and private luncheons with diplomats and government officials, reaffirming Nigeria’s position as a gateway for investment into Africa.
Speakers and dignitaries included Dr. Olufemi Ogunyemi, MD of the Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority; Christian Mulamula, IFC Nigeria’s Principal Country Officer; Dr. Christian Ebeke, IMF Resident Representative; Dr. Awele Elumelu, Chairperson of Avon Medical Practice; and members of the diplomatic community.
