BMW Drives Hydrogen-Powered Mobility in South Africa

BMW Group South Africa partners with Sasol and Anglo-American Platinum to push hydrogen-powered mobility in South Africa. The collaboration aims to test BMW’s iX5 Hydrogen, a car developed over four years, with a range of 504 km and a top speed of 180 km/h. Sasol provides green hydrogen and a mobile refuelling system for the venture.

The initiative follows Toyota South Africa Motors’ alliance with Sasol and Air Products South Africa in developing the second-gen Toyota Mirai and hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles. This collaboration signifies a crucial step in South Africa’s journey towards adopting sustainable transportation solutions.
