NIGERIA: Lagos Begins Retrofitting Street Lights

The Lagos State Government (LASG) has begun retrofitting existing street lights with the Light Emitting Diode (LED) technology across the state. The General Manager, Lagos State Electricity Board (LSEB), Engr. Mukhtaar Tijani has said the move to retrofit existing infrastructure aligns with the LASG efforts at improving the state’s economic resilience.

”The light-emitting diode is a rapidly developing technology that is reshaping the energy sustainability landscape of the world, balancing economic growth and social progress with the preservation of the natural environment”, Tijani noted. He also noted that the transformation would enhance energy efficiency and improve the business operations in the state.
