Saudi Energy Adopts AI Operating System Across MENA

Saudi Energy has signed final agreements with Kraken Technologies Limited to form a strategic partnership focused on digital transformation in the energy and utilities sector. The partners will also establish a joint venture headquartered in Riyadh, and Saudi Energy will acquire a minority equity stake in Kraken.

In addition, the joint venture will serve as the exclusive distributor of Kraken’s AI-powered operating platform across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The partners will use this structure to accelerate the rollout of digital energy solutions and strengthen regional energy technology capabilities. In addition, the initiative will support job creation in both digital and energy-related fields.

Furthermore, Kraken Technologies will provide a cloud-based AI operating system that enables end-to-end utility management. The platform supports customer experience services, billing systems, field operations, data analytics, and smart energy applications. It currently manages more than 70 million customer accounts across over 27 countries.

Saudi Energy will integrate the platform into its broader operational strategy to modernise the electricity ecosystem. The company will use the partnership to improve efficiency, strengthen system resilience, and advance long-term digital infrastructure development across its operations.
